ANDREW HEYWARD is a nationally known news executive, award-winning producer, and expert on the changing media landscape. Since 2006, he has been helping media companies and nonprofit organizations develop innovative online ventures and successful digital strategies, create new content and services, and transform themselves to drive growth and revenue in an age of rapid evolution. He also does extensive pro bono work promoting journalistic innovation and news literacy.

Andrew was president of CBS News from January 1996 to November 2005. Under Andrew's leadership, CBS News's tradition of journalistic quality and integrity was recognized with an extraordinary number of broadcast journalism's most prestigious awards. Before his tenure as president, Andrew was executive producer of The CBS Evening News. He was also responsible for developing and launching 48 Hours, the primetime CBS News series that premiered in January 1988. He has won twelve national Emmy Awards.

Andrew's three children are all involved in different aspects of media. His son David (Colgate '00), is a partner in a recruiting firm specializing in information technology. His daughter Emily '01 is cofounder of Red Antler, a boutique marketing and branding agency. His other daughter, Sarah '06, is a screenwriter whose most recent assignment was as a staff writer and story editor on the HBO series Girls.
